Spellweaving is an advanced form of utilizing one of the different variants of Levitation Combos while implementing one or multiple Air Projectiles, also known as Magic Slants, or Slanted Projectiles, into the combo. If used effectively, you'll never even touch the ground at all. All of this coincidentally happens to be formed from some variant of Juggling.

This is also the reason why Conehead, Royal Guard, and Gray Knight are incredibly good characters as they can make completing Insane Mode a whole lot easier. Even to the point where you don't even need to use Health Potions at all!

The Basics Edit

How to begin Fly (Fastfall) Spellweaving Edit

In order to begin Fly (Fastfall) Spellweaving, you must reach Level 8, which unlocks the Uppercut Combo: Xbox360 Button XXbox360 Button Y/PS3 SquarePS3 Triangle and have at least put 9 skill points into Magic to unlock the Air Projectile: Xbox360 Button AXbox360 Trigger RightXbox360 Button Y/PS3 XPS3 R2PS3 Triangle.

How to begin Fly (Slowfall) Spellweaving Edit

In order to begin Fly (Slowfall) Spellweaving, you must reach Level 2, which unlocks the Turtle Combo: Xbox360 Button AXbox360 Button A/PS3 XPS3 X; you must also reach Level 8, which unlocks the Uppercut Combo: Xbox360 Button XXbox360 Button Y/PS3 SquarePS3 Triangle and have at least put 9 skill points into Magic to unlock the Air Projectile: Xbox360 Button AXbox360 Trigger RightXbox360 Button Y/PS3 XPS3 R2PS3 Triangle. However, timing of the Fly (Slowfall) Combo takes incredibly extreme precise timing to where you must position your fingers from the Xbox360 Button A/PS3 X button and Xbox360 Button X/PS3 Square button in which you slide your finger from the Xbox360 Button A/PS3 X button immediately to the Xbox360 Button X/PS3 Square button to start the Fly (Slowfall) Combo. If done correctly, your character may skip the Turtle animation completely or your character will at least start the very first few frames spinning and you'll stay in the air noticeably longer than normal.

Blue Knight Turtle Timing

A reference for the time frame the Fly (Slowfall) Combo can be done without ever having to Magic Jump. This or the fact that if done correctly, you may or may not even hear the Turtle Combo being used.

Because of the opening of the Fly (Slowfall) Combo is very small, it is highly recommended that you have at least put 19 skill points into Magic to unlock the Magic Jump: Xbox360 Trigger RightXbox360 Button A/PS3 R2PS3 X in order to ease timing substantially.

Air Projectile Boost Edit

In order to achieve the Air Projectile Boost, you must time the moment you start your first Y or Triangle with an Air Projectile. If done right, your character will be flung higher into the air. Saracen and Bear have a much different effect from this shown below on this page.

Requirements for Fastfall and Slowfall Combos:

  • Level 11
  • 19 points into Magic

NOTE: The hardest combos require that you get to the maximum height possible and also requires precise timing; you'll know if you reach the maximum height if your character somehow doesn't Hover (XYX/STS). Precise timing comes in the moment you reach that height. Blue Knight can only cast 2 Air Projectiles due to how expensive the mana cost is for casting Air Projectiles. Starting up the Fly (slowfall) Combo without use of the Magic Jump can be rather difficult but is doable.

Notes Edit

  • The maximum amount of Air Projectiles that can be casted while also retaining the Fly (Fastfall) Combo is 6, with the maximum casted while in the air is 12.
  • The maximum amount of Air Projectiles that can be casted while also retaining the Fly (Slowfall) Combo is 9, with the maximum casted while in the air is 12.
  • Bear and Saracen have a unique form of spellweaving, only achieved from timing the Air Projectile at the height of the second Y or Triangle.
    • However, this can only be achieved by the Fly (Fastfall) Combo as the Fly (Slowfall) Combo will be negated by Bear and Saracen's own respective Air Projectile and turned back from Slowfall to Fastfall.
  • Green Knight requires a little bit more precise timing with this, due to his different heavy attack (YY/TT) compared to all of the other characters.
  • Necromancer's Air Projectile still continues after touching the ground, which is useful for Insane Mode.
  • 45° angle Air Projectile characters, such as Fencer, Iceskimo, Brute, Orange Knight, Barbarian, and Stove Face, can hit enemies, but requires a little bit more precise maneuvering as their projectiles stay in the air longer than 60° angle Air Projectile characters, which enemies can easily get away from in Insane Mode.
  • 60° angle Air Projectile characters, such as Conehead, Royal Guard, Gray Knight, Pink Knight, and Hatty Hattington, can hit enemies from below, which is incredibly beneficial in Insane Mode.
