Saracen is an enemy and also one of the 31 Playable Characters in the game Castle Crashers. Their magical attacks are Non-Elemental and their starting weapon is the Falchion.

Information[]

Background[]

Saracen is found in the Desert Chase, Sand Castle Interior and Sand Castle Roof levels. There are multiple Saracens in the Desert Chase level, multiple in Sand Castle Interior (including a Beefy version), and the most in Sand Castle Roof with the presence of another Beefy. Finally, the Saracen is fought for the final time in Wizard Castle Interior in the Necromancer's Room in the 2nd wave.

Involvement[]

The Saracens are not connected to the Evil Wizard or the Frost King, or any other bosses for that matter. They appear to be very territorial in nature though, and not welcoming at all to outsiders. However it is apparent by the map the player wins at the end of Sand Castle Roof that they are expert cartographers. It is possible that the one seen in Desert Chase was scouting out the Alien Crash.

Description[]

A middle eastern character. Saracen is an Arab or Muslim, at the time of the Crusades.[1] He wears a turban, has purple irises in his character portrait, a beard, and wears a brown tunic.

Magic[]

Splash Attack

"Sandstorm"

Element: Non-Elemental

Max Hits: Based on max mana amount and how long the button is held for (approx. 12-15 seconds)

Damage/Hit: Base Melee Damage

Use 360 RT360 Y/PS3 R2PS3 Triangle/Switch RTSwitch X to perform. This spell initially deals damage using your Magic, then continues dealing damage which depends on your Strength.

There are many practical uses for this Splash Attack and the Air Projectile, but the Air Projectile primarily. The Splash Attack can be used to store or reset Elemental Infusions, trap heavyweights, and can even be used to skip a level.

Magic Projectile

"Sand Blast"

Element: Non-Elemental

Damage: Base Magic Damage x 0.3

Use 360 RT360 B/PS3 R2PS3 Circle/Switch RTSwitch A to perform. Five gusts of sand spread out upward, having high knockback for lightweights and middleweights. This spell can be used in combination with fly combos to set up juggles and pairs well with the Air Projectile. Unblockable with a shield up, to opposing players in Arena or so.

Air Projectile

"Sandstorm"

Element: Non-Elemental

Max Hits: Based on max mana amount and how long the button is held for (approx. 12-15 seconds)

Damage/Hit: Base Melee Damage

Use 360 A, 360 RT360 Y/PS3 Cross, PS3 R2PS3 Triangle/Switch B, Switch RTSwitch X to perform. This spell initially deals damage using your Magic, then continues dealing damage which depends on your Strength.

There are many practical uses for this Air Projectile and the Splash Attack, but the Air Projectile primarily. The Air Projectile can be used to accrue extra hits on lightweights, middleweights, and heavyweights in juggles; Sandstorm tek, Sandstorm slide, spellweave, et cetera.

Elemental Infusion

"Armor Pierce"

Element: Non-Elemental

Damage: Base Magic Damage^2 + Base Melee Damage^2

Use 360 X360 X360 X360 Y/PS3 SquarePS3 SquarePS3 SquarePS3 Triangle/Switch YSwitch YSwitch YSwitch X to perform. This attack pierces armor, and it deals two times normal damage. That means it deals as much damage to a Barbarian or Thief on Normal Mode as it does to a Stoveface or Brute on Insane Mode.

Magic Jump

"Dust Jump"

Element: Non-Elemental

Damage: Base Magic Damage

Use 360 RT360 A/PS3 R2PS3 Cross/Switch RTSwitch B to perform. Leaps up with a dusty, but different sounding effect that damages overlapped enemies.

Tips[]

  • Use a Strength heavy weapon to take advantage of Saracen's Splash Attack and Air Projectile.
  • If playing with another player or more, the other player can coordinate with the Saracen player to pin certain enemies up against a wall like in Industrial Castle. The other player can use juggling or spam Magic Projectiles and Air Projectiles.
