Pet Tiers is a comparison of between Animal Orbs is based on their stats, their advantages and their disadvantages. This list will be updated due to the changes of some pets on the Remastered version, so things may not be in order. Still, this is still a good way to gauge which pets are and aren't good.

1) BiPolar Bear

27 Points (SS)

Advantages

  • 7 - Mauls bosses with less than 11% HP left
  • 7 - Gives the player a visual indicator of when an enemy is dead, preventing overkill
  • 7 - Mauls enemies with less than 11 HP left
  • 7 - Saves time on speedruns

Disadvantages

  • 1 - Mauls allies and player with less than 11 HP

1) Snoot

27 Points (SS)

Advantages

  • 10 - +4 strength
  • 7 - Strength boost makes levels go by significantly faster
  • 3 - Reduces the amount of juggles needed to kill in arena mode
  • 2.5 - Can be used with the Gold Skull Mace for the highest possible melee damage output
  • 2.5 - Can be used with the Man Catcher for the highest possible strength boost
  • 2 - Highest boost to strength

Disadvantages

1) Meowburt

27 Points (SS)

Advantages

  • 12 - +4 agility
  • 7 - Useful to give a large boost to agility early on with low level characters
  • 3 - Can be used with the Sai or Cardboard Tube for the highest possible agility boost
  • 3 - Can be used with the Sai or Cardboard Tube for the highest possible bow damage output
  • 2 - Highest boost to agility

4) Zebra

25 Points (S+)

Advantages

  • 6 - +2 agility
  • 5 - +2 magic
  • 4 - Stat boosts emphasize the boosts of the Snakey Staff and Ninja Claw very well
  • 4 - Stat boosts compliment the boosts of the Man Catcher and Dual Prong Sword very well
  • 4 - Raises the chance of finding fruit in tall grass to 100%
  • 2 - Increases multiple stats

4) Piggy

25 Points (S+)

Advantages

  • 7 - Makes fruit give 2X more HP
  • 7 - Makes turkey legs give 1.5X more HP
  • 7 - Makes the Necromancer fight very easy (every enemy drops fruit)
  • 4 - Works very well when other players are using Hawkster

6) Burly Bear

  • 7.5 - +3 strength
  • 6 - Stat boosts emphasize the boosts of the Man Catcher, Club, Buffalo Mace, and Dual Prong Sword very well
  • 5 - Strength boost makes levels go by significantly faster
  • 2 - Stat boosts compliment the boosts of the Ninja Claw very well
  • 2 - +1 Defense
  • 2 - Increases multiple stats

7) Beholder

Advantages

  • 10 - +4 magic
  • 6 - Can give up to two magic boosts
  • 2.5 - Can be used with the Unicorn Horn to give the highest possible magic boost
  • 2.5 - Can be used with the Unicorn Horn to give the highest possible magic damage output
  • 2 - Highest boost to magic

7) Hawkster

Advantages

  • 7 - Collects fruit from dead bodies
  • 7 - Best pet for newer players on insane mode
  • 5 - Attacks fallen enemies and accumulates XP through one damage pecks
  • 4 - Can use weapon's special effect

Disadvantages

  • 2 - Food can be intercepted by Thieves

9) Scratchpaw

21 Points (A+)

Advantages

  • 6 - +2 agility
  • 5 - +2 strength
  • 4 - Stat boosts emphasize the boosts of the Ribeye and Butcher Knife very well
  • 2 - Stat boosts compliment the boosts of the Evil Sword very well
  • 2 - Most versatile pet for arena mode
  • 2 - Increases multiple stats

10) Yeti

Advantages

  • 6 - Reduces damage received from all ice attacks
  • 6 - Prevents the player from being frozen
  • 5 - +2 Strength

11) Rammy

16 Points (A-)

Advantages

  • 7 - Knocks enemies down once every five to ten seconds
  • 7 - Knocks enemies down if the player drags him through the enemies
  • 2 - Running through Slimes is amazing for grinding XP at low levels
  • 2 - Charging can't be blocked

Disadvantages

  • 1 - Interrupts combos and stunlocks
  • 1 - Charging can be dodged

11) Bitey Bat

16 Points (A-)

Advantages

  • 5 - Enemies can't move during biting
  • 5 - Biting can't be blocked or dodged
  • 5 - Resets the enemies' hit counters
  • 2 - Damages enemies by biting


Disadvantages

  • 1 - Can't bite enemies in the air

13) Chicken

13.5 Points (B+)

Advantages

  • 7 - Emphasizes and compliments the stats of almost every weapon
  • 3 - +1 agility
  • 2.5 - +1 strength
  • 2 - +1 defense
  • 2 - Increases multiple stats

Disadvantages

  • 3 - Effect is watered down from being spread thin onto many stats

14) Cardinal

Advantages

  • 5 - +2 magic
  • 3 - Brings player 3 secret weapons
  • 2 - Brings player the boomerang

Disadvantages

14) Pazzo

Advantages

  • 4 - +2 defense
  • 3 - Shows player 2 invisible dig spots
  • 3 - Shows normal dig spots with hard to find X marks

  • 7 - Regenerates one percent of the player's HP every ten seconds

  • 2 - Increases enemies' chance to drop food
  • 2 - Increases enemies' chance to drop more valuable gold
  • 2 - Increases enemies' chance to drop weapons

Disadvantages

  • 2 - Drops can be unreliable due to the unpredictability of which drop you'll get

  • 5 - Effect on gold collection is all but unnoticeable
  • 2 - Gold can be intercepted by Thieves

28) Sherbert

Advantages

  • 1 - Allows the player to jump higher

Disadvantages

  • 7 - Creates unnecessary difficulty starting juggles

29) Install Ball

Advantages

  • 2 - Can hit enemies in the air regardless of height
  • 1 - Randomly shoots photons

Disadvantages

  • 7 - Photons cause the hit counter to increase as they don't end combos, and sometimes cause the player to take unnecessary damage
  • 6 - Photons interrupt juggles

Grading System

Advantages and disadvantages are ranked by relevancy on a scale from 1-5. 5 is the most relevant and 1 is the least relevant. The points will be added up (advantages will be positive, disadvantages will be negative), and the characters with higher scores will be ranked higher. Stat pets will be ranked by how much of each stat they give on the same point based system. Negative stats will be worth half their value. For boosting multiple stats they will receive a 1 point bonus.
