Insane Mode
Comments7this wiki
Insane mode is a game mode for Castle Crashers. Playing insane mode will increase the health of enemies as well as the amount of damage they will do. Players will not have any levels unlocked in insane mode when they first play; you will start at the Home Castle level just as in the regular game.
Play
To get into Insane Mode, go to the Barbarian Boss map location. If insane mode is unlocked, a player will be able to walk down into a pit. All the players in party must press
and agree to insane mode before it begins, the player raises an orange flag in sign of agreement. You may also go downward from the Home Castle map location.
Whenever you switch modes, you start by viewing the opening sequence again. Once that's over, you may exit to the map and move to any level you've already completed in that mode, as your progress in each mode will be saved.
In Insane Mode, normal enemies have 10x the health and hit 10x as hard (roughly). The Barbarian Boss, for example, deals 100 damage with his shield whacking attack, instead of 5. Having a very skilled character is necessary.
Also enemies will more aggressively go after Food power-ups before the player can get to them.

NOTE: If you play with someone who has a gold skull you can skip Necromancer and other levels.
As of the update on August 26, 2011, there are a number of new weapons hidden within this mode. The actual number is still unknown, but the first one confirmed is a wooden plank. It is available for purchase at the castle keep for 400 gold coins on Insane Mode.
Upon Completion
When you beat the game on this mode your character shows a golden skull instead of a white one on the selection screen.
On the PlayStation 3 version, the Open-Faced Gray Knight, King, Necromancer, and Cult Minion (Cultist) are unlocked by playing through insane mode. The Xbox 360 version differs from this as it offers these characters as downloadable content.
