Civilian is one of the 31 Playable Characters in the game Castle Crashers. Their magical attacks are Non-Elemental and their starting weapon is the Pitchfork.

Civilian's specialties include combo locking and basic juggling.

Information[]

Background[]

A Civilian appears in Barracks where he is playing the cello near a band of Peasants in the Home Castle level. Next, it is assumed that the Skeletons in Lava World are resurrected Civilians that the Necromancer summoned to attack the player(s). Later on, two Civilians and a Peasant are seen fighting a group of Snakeys in the later part of Marsh with one of them being a Beefy. Immediately afterwards, one of the Civilians will follow the player(s) into the corn field along with that same Peasant, where they will sit and watch the player(s) fight the Corn Boss in the Corn Boss level but will fight the corn boss if you stand near them and get the corn to pop up under them. Finally, in Final Battle, after the player(s) has/have gotten on the crystal after killing the Evil Wizard and sitting through the end credits, a Civilian is seen playing his violin, again.

Involvement[]

Civilians seemingly respect the King with loyalty, as they help the player(s) out in battle.

Description[]

Civilian is the only other character besides Pink Knight that seems to be expressing a form of happiness in his portrait and may be the only character to have any hair, along with the Saracen. He has the same build as the Peasant. If you did not unlock the Pitchfork from Castle Keep by Level Skipping, then you will gain the Pitchfork if you beat the game with Peasant.

Magic[]

Splash Attack

"Arrow Rain"

Element: Non-Elemental

Max Hits: 1 per upgrade level (max 7)

Damage/Hit: Base Magic Damage x 0.5

Use 360 RT360 Y / PS3 R2PS3 Triangle to perform. Arrows rain down from the sky in front of the character in groups of three. Each upgrade adds another set of three arrows, but each set of arrows can only hit the same enemy once per set. Knocks enemies over and can't be blocked. A total of 8 characters (including Civilian) share the same exact Splash Attack.

Magic Projectile

"Dagger"

Element: Non-Elemental

Damage: Base Magic Damage

Use 360 RT360 B / PS3 R2PS3 Circle to perform. Throws a dagger as a Magic Projectile.

Air Projectile

"Dagger"

Element: Non-Elemental

Damage: Base Magic Damage

Use 360 A, 360 RT360 Y / PS3 Cross, PS3 R2PS3 Triangle to perform. Throws a dagger as a Air Projectile.

An advanced use of Juggling, named Spellweaving, can use this Air Projectile for flashy techniques.

Elemental Infusion

"Armor Pierce"

Element: Non-Elemental

Damage: Base Magic Damage^2 + Base Melee Damage^2

Use 360 X360 X360 X360 Y / PS3 SquarePS3 SquarePS3 SquarePS3 Triangle to perform. This attack pierces armor, and it deals two times normal damage. That means it deals as much damage to a Barbarian or Thief on Normal Mode as it does to a Stove Face or Brute on Insane Mode.

Magic Jump

"Dust Jump"

Element: Non-Elemental

Damage: Base Magic Damage

Use 360 RT360 A / PS3 R2PS3 Cross to perform. Leaps up with a dust effect with a metal impact-like sound that damages overlapped enemies.

Strategy[]

Overview[]

Civilian's respective "Arrow Rain" Splash Attack and "Dagger" Magic Projectile and Air Projectile make him a member of the fan nicknamed "Arrow Rainers". Bland and common characters that show off nothing special at all. These are considered to be the gold standard for Castle Crashers, as they are painfully below average and are not unique, unlike the characters below them. These are the aforementioned Civilian, Thief, Stove Face, Peasant, and Open-Faced Gray Knight.

Castle Crashers[]

Mediocre character in Castle Crashers. Struggles in difficult levels like Desert and Full Moon. To make the best of Civilian, it is advised to use a high Strength weapon or a high Magic weapon that does not reduce Strength. Attribute to Magic for the Elemental Infusion first, or attribute to Agility first. The top 5 Animal Orbs in Snoot, Burly Bear, Hawkster, Piggy, and BiPolar Bear will suffice.

Arena[]

The gold standard of Arena. The Splash Attack is not reliable for hitting opponents or for resets.
